MEET KATHIE
NEW LEADERSHIP DELIVERING RESULTS FOR OUR COMMUNITY
Thank you for your interest in supporting me for West Virginia State House of Delegates, District 19. I hope to show you why you want me for your next West Virginia State Delegate.
I am married to Marc and we have 5 great kids - 4 sons and then our daughter. Our older three boys all graduated from Buffalo High School in Putnam County after beginning their schooling in Kanawha County. I have Homeschooled our youngest son and daughter for the last 10 years and will continue through graduation.
I grew up in Charleston, Kanawha County and lived their for 32 years before buying a farm in Putnam County and moving there 18 years ago. My schooling consisted of Ruffner Elementary, Roosevelt Jr. High, Charleston High School, and West Virginia State University - all within Kanawha County. I graduated from WV State in 1997 & 2000 with an Associates in Science and Bachelors Degree in Biology with concentrations In Molecular and Microbiology respectively. I have worked at Dow Chemical as an Analytical Technician for a before taking a job with the WV Office of Laboratory Services in South Charleston, where I was Microbiologist and Mycologist. I was also on the Bioterrorism Response team for the State of WV. I left OLS in 2004 when our 4th son was born and have been a stay at home mom since then, although that does NOT mean I have done nothing else.

I have kept extremely busy and active in the community over the last 15 years. Most recently I have joined the Putnam County Rotary, putting service above self.
​
I currently serve as Delegate for the 13h district. I was appointed in November 2021 to fill a vacant seat.
I was President and Vice President of WV Home Educators (WVHEA) and have served on their board for several years. I also run the largest Facebook support group for Homeschoolers in WV, with 8000 active members. I maintain the 800 line for WVHEA. I work well with and maintain a good relationship with both CHEWV and HSLDA. I have helped build our homeschool community both locally and across the state.
I was appointed as the first female commissioner for the WV Athletic Commission.
Currently I serve on board for the Putnam County Convention and Visitors Bureau.
I serve on the Board of Directors for Kanawha Valley Soap Box Derby and previously served as their Treasurer.

I am a citizen lobbyist for the 2nd Amendment, Right to life, Homeschooling, School Choice, Health Freedoms, and more.
I serve on the committee for the Charleston High School All Class Summer Bash, and All Class Reunion. I have been part of this since the conception and had maintained the website for it for years.
I also stay very active with the Putnam County Republican Association and the Putnam County Republican Women's Club.
Over the last several years I have also assisted with several local and statewide campaigns.

I look forward to serving District 19 and the State of WV and bringing Independence, Self Reliance, and Prosperity to our beautiful State as well as each and everyone of us.
